    Description

Up for auction is this  fantastic die-cut stand up paper advertising doll issued by the Estey Organ Company of Brattleboro Vermont U.S.A around the 1890s period. It is from a rare series of dolls that feature a beautifully lithographed image of a young boy or girl representing a NURSERY RYME Scene. I am unsure of how many where in the series but have personally witnessed 3 different Nursery Rhymes  in the 18 years I have been on ebay. The front features advertising for Estey Organs as well as two side flaps that instruct to fold them back to be able to stand the toy up for play.  The Back features a Nursery Ryme slightly adjusted from the original to include mention of Estey Organs.  This card features TOMMY TUCKER.  The doll  measures  5 inches by 2 inches approximately when stood up.  The doll does have some creasing, including at the fold lines for it to be stood up (often these flaps are completely torn off).  It also does appear to have some kind of tape reinforcing the neck area.  The doll is intact, featuring strong color and I think displays very well.  I have scanned the doll, both front and back,  fairly large for you to be able to judge condition for yourself. Because of the fact that it was issued as a toy to be played with, and that it is fairly fragile to begin with, not many have survived over the approximately 120 years (a true American Antique).
I  will be trying to list several  EARLY TRADE & TYPE CARDS over the next few days (spread across different categories),
including one or two that are unrecorded in any guide, that were put given away with Tobacco, Caramel, Candy, Gum, Chocolate, Bread Coffee Tea Cereal and other products, covering such diverse subjects as Native American Indians , Baseball , Football, Boy Scouts, Ice Hockey, Golf, Presidents of the United States, NCAA and IVY League Colleges and Universities and Circus themes.  To view the other cards I have up on ebay please click  on the “View Sellers other Items” Icon located on this page. It will take you directly to them.
I am actually located in Canada just across the border.  I have a U.S.A. mailing address, and I mail my items from the USA to avoid border delays.
Due to my work schedule and distance to the post office I am only able to ship  Monday Mornings
.  If I haven’t received payment for an item the EVENING BEFORE Monday  the item will have to wait until the next Monday  to go out. Its unfortunate but unavoidable.  If this doesn’t work for you I respectfully ask that you do not bid or buy. Thanks again
