Description
This fantastic card was issued
by the CLARK SPOOL COTTON of Broadway New York City as an advertising premium for their brand of thread during 1890s. This is the Cavalry Series which features 12 different Soldier on Horseback representing different nations around the world. The front of the card features a colorful lithographic image of the Soldier and Horse, while the back features advertising. The card is actually made up of 2 separate pieces adhered together to give the appearance of depth. This card features a CAVALRY SOLDIER from ENGLAND. Measurements for the card is hard to determine as it is die-cut and of uneven shape. However it’s height measures just under 5 inches approximately, and 4 inches wide. The card does have some creasing at the Horses legs and soldiers neck ect., but it is fully intact and I think displays nicely. I have scanned the card fairly large for you to be able to judge condition for yourself.
I will be trying to list several EARLY TRADE & TYPE CARDS over the next few days (spread across different categories),
including one or two that are unrecorded in any guide, that were put given away with Tobacco, Caramel, Candy, Gum, Chocolate, Bread Coffee Tea Cereal and other products, covering such diverse subjects as Native American Indians , Baseball , Football, Boy Scouts, Ice Hockey, Golf, Presidents of the United States, NCAA and IVY League Colleges and Universities and Circus themes. To view the other cards I have up on ebay please click on the “View Sellers other Items” Icon located on this page. It will take you directly to them.
I am actually located in Canada just across the border. I have a U.S.A. mailing address, and I mail my items from the USA to avoid border delays.
Due to my work schedule and distance to the post office I am only able to ship Monday Mornings
. If I haven’t received payment for an item the EVENING BEFORE Monday the item will have to wait until the next Monday to go out. Its unfortunate but unavoidable. If this doesn’t work for you I respectfully ask that you do not bid or buy. Thanks again
