    Description

This  fantastically scarce card was issu
    ed
by the International  Coffee Company of Greenwich & Vandam Streets in New York City as an  insert premium in their brands of  Famous Old Homestead Coffee.  Although no guide gives a specific year of issue it is generally assum
    ed
    that these were issu
    ed
sometime in late 1900 era to the early 1910 era based on the style of planes featured in the series.    This series is designat
    ed
as K110 in Burdicks American Card Catalogue, and is entitl
    ed
“AEROPLANES”. There are 12 cards in the series in total.   The front of the card features a wonderfully detailed color illustration of the featured plane, as well as a small “Printed in Germany” copyright on the front.   The back features a brief paragraph of information regarding the plane, and advertising for Old Homstead Coffee. This card features the THE SPHERICAL BALLOON.
The card measures  4 1/8  inches by 2 5/8 inches  approximately.   The card is free from creases and displays very well. I have scann
    ed
the card fairly large for you to be able to judge condition for yourself.
These are fairly scarce cards,  that are a highly desirable cross over collectable.  The series is coveted by those interested in the very beginnings of motorized aviation history, and by collectors of early trading cards.
Arguably this is one of the nicest and earliest card sets dealing with early aviation issued in the United States, and was issued when most of these planes were still up in the air.   Don’t miss out on this over 110 year old card (an official American Antique).
I  will be trying to list several  EARLY TRADE & TYPE CARDS over the next few days (spread across different categories),
including one or two that are unrecorded in any guide, that were put given away with Tobacco, Caramel, Candy, Gum, Chocolate, Bread Coffee Tea Cereal and other products, covering such diverse subjects as Native American Indians , Baseball , Football, Boy Scouts, Ice Hockey, Golf, Presidents of the United States, NCAA and IVY League Colleges and Universities and Circus themes.  To view the other cards I have up on ebay please click  on the “View Sellers other Items” Icon located on this page. It will take you directly to them.
I am actually located in Canada just across the border.  I have a U.S.A. mailing address, and I mail my items from the USA to avoid border delays.
Due to my work schedule and distance to the post office I am only able to ship  Monday Mornings
.  If I haven’t received payment for an item the EVENING BEFORE Monday  the item will have to wait until the next Monday  to go out. Its unfortunate but unavoidable.  If this doesn’t work for you I respectfully ask that you do not bid or buy. Thanks again
