Description
Vintage/ antique store display is lithographed tin. The Mazer-Cressman Cigar Company of Detroit named one of their best 5 cent cigars for Alfred Tennyson (1809-92), a well-known lover of cigars. The Cadillac Can Co. manufactured tins for display in stores (with lithographed portraits of Tennyson). Factory 129 State of Ohio, partial tax stamp. The former owner of this tin was a tobacciana collector. I have left the old (presumably) auction tag on it reading C 111. Normal wear. Not banged up. Wood bottom. Note: this tin is depicted in an old newspsper tobacco ad listed for sale on eBay. SBE 3749
