    Description

Here we have an authentic Pre-Columbian Chavin Vessel from 300-500 B.C. The Chavín culture is an extinct, pre-Columbian civilization in modern day Peru named for Chavin de Huantar, the principal archaeological site at which its artifacts have been found. I purchased this piece from the private museum of historian Clarke Otten. Mr. Otten is a well-known award-winning historian from Sandy Springs, GA, which is right down the road from where I live. The piece is 5" wide at the arms and stands 5 3/4" tall. See photos for condition. It's in great condition for its age. There are a couple of small chips on the rim that I depicted in the photos.
If you collect antique artifacts, please save me as a seller. I will be listing quite a few antique artifacts from Clarke Otten's museum as well as other pieces from Africa, China, and Central and South American in 2021!
