Description
Rare old figural metal salesman sample/paperweight in the shape of a Mills water tube steam boiler made by the H.B. Smith Company in the 1920's.This vintage industrial replica is cast in a heavyweight metal with intricate detail, from the metal tubes on the sides to the valves, dials and doors. One door is embossed "THE H.B. SMITH CO. - WESTFIELD, MASS. - NEW YORK - BOSTON - PHILADELPHIA". Another "No. 24 - MILLS WATER TUBE BOILER", and a third door "A.S.M.E. STANDARD". The bottom is covered in green felt.
It measures 4.5" tall by 3.5" wide by 3" deep, and weighs just over 2 lbs.
The H.B. Smith Company of Westfield, Mass. had been making water and steam boilers for 156 years until they ceased in 2019. This advertising paperweight from their early years is a true collector's item.
