Up for sale is a very accurate digital display circuit board (wired and tested) and connected larger LED display that - depending upon the programming which the user specifies at purchase time - can be used either with the
KENWOOD TS-520S
or with
HEATHKIT SB / HW or HR
series radios.
With it operating,
you'll always know

where you are
- no guessing, cussing or interpolating analog dial division hash marks.
This is a proven, time tested design.
Unlike other digital displays advertised here on eBay, this one is very special as it doesn't require any extra switches, buttons, user programming or maintenance.  All one has to do is to connect it to the radio's HFO, VFO and BFO (Carrier Oscillator) outputs, apply power and off it goes.  That's it.
This display is so accurate because it constantly monitors the radio's internal oscillators when it computes the actual frequency.  Frequency resolution can be either 10Hz or 100Hz depending upon an option (external switch or jumper) on the circuit board.  As an added bonus, it also displays the radio's operating mode.
You should know that both
Heathkit
and
Kenwood
offered external digital displays for their radios.  For Kenwood, it was the DG-5 and for Heath it was the SB-650.  Neither of these older units could display the frequency to 10Hz nor could they display the radio's operating mode.
From what I've read, they required periodic adjustment.
By contrast, this display uses just 5 integrated circuits and need never never be adjusted.
Like the Everyready Bunny, it just works.

As you'll note it does NOT come with any mounting enclosure, wiring or power supply
which the user will have to purchase.  Quite obviously, the TS-520S is not included in the auction.

The user will need to tell me whether he or she wants it programmed for the Heathkit series of radios or for the Kenwood TS-520
S.
