Illustration changes when unfolded: folded, you see a man walking with scarf wrapped around his neck, so sick he needs a cane to walk. He is at the druggist and looking at a sign advertising Dr. Wm Hall's Balsam, which promises to cure colds, consumption, pneumonia, asthma and croup. Unfolded, the illustration now shows that man, healthy and surrounded by his family, all celebrating his improved health. On the back there are several paragraph of advertising text about Dr Wm Hall's Balsam, including a testimonial from a man in Massachusetts similar to the story illustrated on the front.
