MFJ-1278 Multi-Mode Data Controller TNC w/DIY radio port and power cables.
This is a used, working amateur radio TNC from MFJ Enterprises model MFJ-1278. Some scratches on the case, but nothing impacts the usability.
It has been reset to factory defaults, and includes one radio cord and one power cord for you to use for your own setup.
**You will have to complete the cables for your radio/power/computer.**
The manual is available online and includes the wiring for different radios.
This unit requires the use of a 25 pin serial port connection to your computer. I recommend the USB to serial adapters using the FTDI chipset.
This is a working unit, and sample packet operation screenshots are shown using this actual controller through PUTTY and RMS Express (Winlink).
Compatible modes include both VHF and HF with packet (Winlink and APRS), CW, and RTTY. You can also receive NAVTEX with the right radio setup.
