Description
MFJ QRP transceiver Model 9440. I purchased this transceiver from a Ham who had used it in the Rocky Mountains as part of a Sota project. I had intended to try my hand at QRP but never got around to it, so it's just been sitting for about a year, and I have just purchased a yeasu ft 891.I don't have a watt-meter, but connected it to the dummy load in my MFJ 969 tuner. It appeared to be generating approximately 4.5 watts. MFJ says it's capable of 5 watts, but needs to be connected to a 15v, 1.5 amp supply, which I don't have. I used a 12 volt supply from an old computer. The features of this radio can be found on the MFJ website.
It is in very good condition, with no dings. It DOES NOT have the CW module installed, but MFJ is still selling the module, I believe. I highly recommend connection to a frequency counter so that accurate band edges can be found, depending on your operating license. Being as how the tuning dial is analog, some interpretation of the setting is required. To the best of my knowledge, this radio is operating properly, but is being sold as-is. This is a tiny transceiver which can easily fit in a backpack with a battery and resonant antenna of some type.
