This is a vintage 6 1/2 inch round covered one quart serving bowl in the Winter Greetings pattern by Lenox.  This pattern is retired, and was made between 1995 and was recently discontinued.
The ceramic type that this bowl is made from is oven safe, and is similar to an earthenware.  This particular piece was used as a display piece and was never used.
The bowl has a foliage design of holly and pine in teal, green, and scarlet, with a matching scarlet ribbon and a beautiful realistic bird on either side.  This has a black capped chickadee on one side and a bluebird on the other.  The lid has matching holly foliage.
The design is by Catherine McClung, an artist well known for her bird depictions, for the American Home Collection, and is on an ivory background.
This is in beautiful like new condition. There is no cracking, chips, or crazing.  It is unused and has the original Lenox price tag on it.
