    Description

    These lightweight aluminum stamped pins feature three WWII airplanes:  Y
    akovlev Yak-3 Fighter Aircraft;
    Ilyushin IL-4 Long Ranger Bomber; Polikarpov Po-2 Liaison Aircraft and one circa 1910 Gakkel III Experimental Biplane.
    The square pins appear to be gold or brass plated stamped aluminum (as they are non-metallic except for the metal pin clasp) and then inlaid with light blue enamel with a thin single wire combination pin and pin catch fastener welded on the back.  The hexagonal Gakkel III pin also appears to be stamped aluminum (non-metallic material) and then inlaid with light blue enamel on the border of the pin and with dark blue in the center portion of the pin.  It has the same type of pin clasp.
    The WWII airplane square pins approximate measurements and weights are:  1 1/16” (27 mm) x 1 1/16” (27 mm) with the individual weight ranging from .115 oz. to .13 oz.. The Gakkel III hexagon shaped pin weight is .135 oz. and is 1 3/16” (31 mm) L x 7/8” (22 mm) H.
    All measurements stated are approximate
    .

    In researching these pins gathered some of the pertinent data about the creation and use of the airplane into a word document which will be included with the pins when sold.  The source of the information is included in the document.  If anyone just looking at these pins is interested in the background information I would be happy to send a pdf document to anyone who sends me a message via eBay messages for the document.
    Here are the names as shown on the pins and my interpretation using web sources to type
    Cyrillic
    and then translate the data.
