    vintage pIN new old stock, ww2 .  before the usaf existed, it was the u.s.army airforce in ww2.pin is 1.75" wide and .5" high, i says AWS in the middle, which was AIRCRAFT WARNING SERVICE.a civilian based  service of army to watch for enemy aircraft  entering us airspace. it was disbanded in 1944 so assume this is before that, though not dated.
